On 2 April 2015 test excavations in advance of the development of new agricultural sheds in the grounds of Parkstown House (now farm), Horse and Jockey, Co. Tipperary took place.

Testing was undertaken to address a request for further information for Tipperary County Council (TCC Ref. No. 14/600450); the proposed development is close to TN047-078, which is depicted on the first edition map as ‘Parkstown Castle’.

A total of three trenches, totaling 65 linear meters, were excavated to the level of natural subsoil. No features or finds of archaeological significance were identified and thus no further mitigation recommended for this site.
