Monitoring was undertaken during site investigations carried out as part of the proposed rehabilitation of watermain pipeline within Monaghan Town and Clones. The work was undertaken by Faith Bailey and Felim MacGabhann of IAC Ltd under licences 15E0475 (Clones) and 15E0476 (Monaghan).
Monitoring was carried out over a course of six days during November 2015. A probable post-medieval stone road surface was exposed in a trench to the south of the River Finn. This was identified below the modern road surface and had been truncated by the excavation of existing services. No other features were identified within the slit trenches.
