The archaeological impact assessment and test trenching has been carried out at a pre-planning stage on behalf of the client in order to determine if any archaeological constraints are present in relation to the site. The site contains no recorded monuments and no surface evidence of any potential archaeological features were identified within the site of the proposed extension. Due to the reduced ground level of the current car park within the location of the proposed extension to the college and the fact that the field boundary was found to be of no archaeological significance, no further archaeological investigation is considered necessary.
