The developer applied for planning permission to construct a new storey and a half dwelling beside an existing single-story deserted farm house, the use of which will be changed to an agricultural building. A request for further information including pre-development testing was issued by Meath County Council. The development site is located on the northern slopes of the Lough Crew and Sliabh na Calliagh hills where the cemeteries of Carnbane/Lough Crew/Drumsawry (ME015-003) and of Corstown (ME015-012) are located. There is a spread of recorded monuments to the north of the development site located in Drumsawry and Ballinvalley townlands.
Eight trenches were excavated. Nothing of archaeological significance was exposed during the testing. Deposits associated with the occupation of the farm house were exposed in Trenches 1 and 2. One sherd of glazed red earthenware was recovered; this sherd could have dated from any time between the 18th century and the 20th century.
