Meath County Council requested an archaeological impact assessment comprising a desk top study and test trenching, if considered necessary, to accompany a planning application to build a house on Main Street, Dunshaughlin. The development site is located at the southern limit of the Zone of Archaeological Potential for Dunshaughlin (ME044-033) and lies west of and across the public road from the motte (ME044-004).
Five trenches tested the site; two tested the locations of the proposed driveway and three tested the footprint of the house. Nothing of archaeological significance was exposed in any of the trenches.
