Testing and monitoring were carried out at Brackloon townland, Swinford on behalf of Aidan Mc Loughlin. The proposed development will consist of a single house, garage and a septic tank. MA072-040, enclosure, is located close to the proposed development. The site was visited by a member of the Department of Environment Community and Local Government as part of an inventory in 1996 /1997. It was reported that the site was leveled. No archaeology was found following the programme of testing. During the site visits however, an interesting upright stone was identified well outside the proposed development area. The slender stone is located 30m east from the site of the development. It has been added to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland (MA072 – 132).
