Pre-development testing of a section of the proposed Kilpaddoge-Knockanure 220 kV underground cable was carried out in response to a request for Further Information. Two test trenches (1 and 2) were excavated along the proposed cable route at the east side of the public road adjacent to a ringfort (KE011-004). The trenches were excavated to a maximum depth of 1.2m below present ground level which was the expected depth of the trench within which the cable would be laid. No archaeological finds, features or deposits relating to the monument were exposed within the limits of the excavated test trenches.
