Test excavations were undertaken at Dromkeen East, Causeway, Co. Kerry with regard to a planning application, to construct a single house. A section of the northern limits of the proposed development site is situated within the zone of notification of Blackpool Ringfort, KE015-013. A series of five linear north-west/south-east running test trenches (T1-T5), 1.5m in width, were excavated across the footprint of the site with negative results.
