The project consisted of the laying of just over 3.7km of watermain within and in the vicinity of the centre of Oranmore village. The pipeline was located in Oranmore village and on roads leading out to the west (the R338) and east (the R466), including a stretch to the east of the N18 dual carriageway (centred on NGR 138060 224645). Works took place in the townlands of Garraun South, Carrowkeel, Carrowmoneash, Millplot, Innplot, Oran More, Oranhill, Oran Beg and Frenchfort. Monitoring of pipe laying was undertaken sporadically between June and October 2015 in five parts of the scheme. No archaeological features or deposits were encountered, however a layer of imported clay with shell inclusions was noted beneath road surfaces in places on Main Street. Part of an ashlar block wall was exposed during excavations close to the southern end of the bridge connecting the Coast road and Main Street, probably relating to an earlier iteration of the bridge.
