Monitoring along the right bank of the River Liffey from City Quay to Sir John Rogerson’s Quay was carried out in 2015. The proposed development is located within the Zone of Archaeological Potential for the historic city of Dublin (DU018-020) and includes the quay wall along City Quay (DU018-020479), the quay wall along George’s Quay (DU018-020458) and the quay wall along Sir John Rogerson’s Quay (DU018-020201).

Monitoring revealed the original ashlar blocks comprising the quays, a number of original cobbled surfaces, rail and crane tracks and other dockside features associated with the handling and the loading and unloading of berthed cargo formerly associated with the 19th- and 20th-century industrial heritage of the South Campshires.

No other archaeological features, finds or deposits of significance were identified.
