Monitoring was carried out with regard to the proposed modification and extension to 109 Moyne Road, Ranelagh, D6, a protected structure (DCC RPS no: 5787). The proposed works involve constructing an extension to the rear, complete with demolition of existing rear garage and construction of new shed & a car port entered by existing access off common lane. The site would have been countryside in the 17th century, located on the ourskirts of Dublin. It was the site of a bloody battle where up to 1000 people were killed (the numbers vary greatly). Nothing of archaeological signifcance was identified.
