Archaeological monitoring took place of ground disturbances associated with construction of a new office development, located at Wilton Place/Lad Lane/Pembroke Row Dublin 2. Monitoring was undertaken in response to planning conditions attached to the proposed development (Planning Ref.: 2769/11).

Monitoring revealed evidence for early 19th- and 20th-century levelling deposits, a late 19th-century occupation deposit, a late 18th-century field boundary and an earlier subsoil-cut field boundary which had been severely truncated.

Whilst the deposits recovered are considered to be indications of the historic development of this area of Dublin, it is not considered that they are archaeologically significant. Consequently no further archaeological mitigation was considered necessary at the development site.
