Archaeological monitoring was carried out at Deanestown, Ballycoolen and Sheephill in response to planning conditions attached to the National Indoor Arena development. These works followed a testing assessment carried out by IAC (Walsh and McIlreavy 2015, Licence Ref: 14E0406).
Monitoring of the topsoil stripping of the development area revealed no deposits or artefacts of archaeological significance. No further archaeological mitigation is deemed necessary as part of the development.
