Monitoring of ground works associated with an extension to the rear of 36 High Street, Donaghadee was carried out in response to planning conditions imposed upon the development which required archaeological supervision of excavation of reduced level dig. Monitoring was carried out on 8 June 2015. After removal of the floor slabs and paving foundation trenches were excavated to a depth of 1.1m to below existing ground levels, having been cut through modern overburden. No archaeological remains or deposits were noted during monitoring of foundation trench excavation.
