Archaeological testing was carried out in Area 2/3 and monitoring in Area 2/2 on the N15 Blackburn Bridge Road Realignment Scheme, Co. Donegal in the townlands of Goland, Meencrumlin and Meencaragagh. This work was carried out during the Construction phase of the contract. The N15 Blackburn Bridge Road Realignment involves the improvement of approx. 2.4km of the N15 from the speed limits south of Ballybofey to McGroary’s Brae in the townland of Meencrumlin in Co. Donegal. No archaeological finds, features or deposits were uncovered during the course of monitoring in Area 2/2 and testing in Area 2/3. There is no predicted impact to the archaeological resource within these areas and no further archaeological mitigation was recommended.
