2015:583 - BELLAGHY: 21-23 Main Street, Old Town Deer Park, Derry

Monitoring of ground works associated with a proposed residential development at 21–23 Main Street, Bellaghy, Co. Londonderry was carried out in response to planning conditions imposed on the development under Planning Policy Guidelines PPS6 BH4, the site being located within a designated Area of Archaeological Potential associated with the historic town of Bellaghy. Monitoring was limited to the excavation of the footings of a new pavement along the eastern boundary of the site and the excavation of a single foundation trench for a housing unit during this preliminary phase of development works at the site. No archaeological remains or features were identified during the course of monitored ground excavation.
