Pre-development testing of a site at Townlands, Rosscarbery, Co. Cork was undertaken at the request of the planning authority as further information. The proposed development consisted of the construction of a domestic garage and a new vehicular access adjacent to an existing dwelling house. The site is located within the archaeological zone of potential for the historic town of Rosscarbery and is located near to the suspected line of the town wall as outlined in the Urban Archaeological Survey of County Cork (Zajac et al 1995, 35). No finds or features were uncovered.
