An archaeological assessment was undertaken at the site of a proposed primary school on the north-eastern outskirts of Mallow town, off St Joseph’s Rad. This site is composed of an area of fallow land (1.88ha) with existing residential areas to the south (Kingsfort Avenue) and west (St Joseph’s Road). Six trenches were excavated across the site as far as the natural subsoil. No archaeological features were recorded.
