Testing was carried out using a mechanical excavator with a 1.8m-wide flat bladed/grading bucket. A total of nine test trenches were excavated across the length of the proposed development area from the topsoil to the subsoil. A small fragment of medieval pottery was recovered from the topsoil in Test Trench 9. No other archaeological finds, features or deposits were recovered in this or any of the other test trenches.
