Test trenching was carried out on 9 December 2015 as part of a wider archaeological impact assessment ahead of the proposed extension to a farmyard. This is a location to the south-east of a levelled enclosure (CO122-048—-). Fieldwork was conducted to ascertain the extent of this enclosure but only the level area of the interior could be identified. However, the bank of the circular enclosure is shown on the 1st edition O.S. map and from this the diameter can be measured as c. 40m. The test trenches were all 25m from this now levelled bank.

All trenches showed topsoil directly over natural subsoil. A solitary east-west linear feature was filled with topsoil-like material and appears to have been a drain associated with a field boundary shown on the 1st edition O.S. map. Nothing of archaeological interest was identified.
