Eleven test trenches were excavated across the Dairygold Cooperative site in advance of an expansion of the plant. The trenches revealed significant build-up of material from the 19th and 20th centuries in the central portion of the site which was previously the lowest lying area of it. No features or finds of archaeological significance were revealed in the test trenches excavated. Monitoring of the ground works followed testing in line with the grant of planning and again no features or finds of archaeological significance were revealed on the site.
