Due to a finds spot of pottery and assumed human remains an archaeological investigation was requested by DOE:HED to investigate the possibility of a burial ground on the site. It is the opinion of the monitoring archaeologist that that the bone uncovered on the site which (noted as findspot ARM 006:027 on the SMR) was most likely to have been animal bone deposited during 19th and 20th century landfill, rather than human bone from the burial ground. It was also clear that, excluding one high dry area in the south-east corner, the site was marginal boggy ground which would not have been suitable for a graveyard. The site is only relatively dry now due to between 1m and 3m of 19th- and 20th-century landfill now covering the original peaty ground in this area.

In conclusion, the area of the development which has been tested does not contain human remains, nor does it contain a burial site.
