Archaeological testing was undertaken at 153 Marlacoo Road, Hamiltonsbawn, Co. Armagh. No recorded archaeological sites were located within the immediate vicinity of the site however it was recommended that archaeological testing be carried out to assess the potential for previously unrecorded subsurface archaeological remains.
On 22 April four trenches, measuring c. 40 linear metres, were excavated across the proposed development area. The removal of concrete platforms associated with the pre-existing farm buildings was also subject to archaeological monitoring.
No structures or features of archaeological significance were identified within the trenches or beneath the concrete platforms.
