An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed demolition of the existing buildings and construction of a new development at 66a Great Victoria Street, 2 Little Victoria Street and 1 Holmes Street.
This evaluation concerned Phase 1 of the proposed development works and three test trenches were excavated. A number of structural items were exposed, consisting of modern red brick walls sitting on stone bases. These walls represent the foundations of the church building which previously occupied the site.
No evidence of any archaeological deposits was identified during the course of the evaluation.
