Monitoring was carried out along the route of an access road within private forestry land at Tonygarrow townland, Glencree, Co. Wicklow.
The development consisted of a forest road constructed through a section of private forestry on the northern slope of the Glencree Valley. This forest road consisted of an average wayleave of 5.5m width, with an extension area of c. 12m radius to act as a turning area for forestry traffic.
Two short sections of dry stone wall were removed from the wayleave during monitoring. Whilst these were of interest, they cannot be securely dated, largely due to a lack of artefactual material or indeed precise morphological parallels. No other features of interest were identified during the work. With regards to this development, no further mitigation is required.
