The excavation, on the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy Scheme, revealed prehistoric pits and post-holes and also later ditches. Sherds and fragments of pottery representing seven Early Neolithic carinated bowls were found as well as an assemblage of Neolithic and Copper Age struck flint. In addition, Late Bronze Age activity was identified by a radiocarbon determination. The occupation revealed at Ballycourcy More 5 was at times contemporaneous with similar activity uncovered at the adjacent site of Ballycourcy More 2 (E4268) excavated in 2010.
