Monitored groundworks during the refurbishment and redevelopment of the 19th-century St John's College, Waterford, have found no evidence of earlier settlement on the site. Works close to an early 18th-century building (Richardson’s Folly, NIAH ref. 22830068) on the southern edge of the site exposed cobbled surfacing and truncated enclosure walls which may have been built in the 18th century.
