In the course of monitoring, a number of potential archaeological feature were identified running through the hardstand and base area of Turbine 6 at Kill Hill Windfarm. The features comprised two large parallel ditches running north-east by south-west through the area. A further two ditches, perpendicular to the first two, were revealed during pre-excavation cleaning of the site. No additional features were uncovered. These would appear to represent field boundary ditches visible on the 1st edition OS map of 1840. A piece of plastic recovered from the base of the ditch in the final stages of excavation would indicate that it was backfilled recently and that all fills were modern in origin.
