Testing was undertaken on the site of the Proposed Sliabh Bawn Wind farm, near Strokestown in Co. Roscommon between 24 and 26 March 2014. A total of 12 test trenches, comprising a total of 1300m² were excavated across the site at available locations. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified in any of the test trenches or in a scan of the topsoil from the test trenches.

A programme of monitoring of site investigation works ran concurrent with the testing programme. A total of 65 site investigation test pits, measuring approximately 3m x 1m, were excavated under archaeological supervision. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified in any of the site investigation test pits or in a scan of the topsoil from the test pits.
