Five test trenches totalling 200 linear metres were excavated within the footprint of a proposed underground telecommunications development (BT cable line), to assess the potential for subsurface archaeological remains. The route of the development traversed the townlands of Stramackilroy, Knockanearla, Knocknageeha and Knockatallon, Scotstown, Co. Monaghan. No archaeological material was found.
