Test trenching was carried out at the site of the proposed Eureka Secondary School, a 4.32 ha green-field site in Kells, Co. Meath. Seven test trenches totalling 900m were excavated within the site following a geophysical survey. Subsoil consisted of a compact orange brown stony clay. Topsoil was consistently deep across the majority of the site, ranging from 0.65-0.85m deep. No archaeological finds or features were recorded.
