This site was discovered during monitoring along the route of the Bord Gáis Networks Newtownfane to Haynestown Gas Pipeline, Co. Louth. The excavation lasted for 1 week and was complete on 6 August 2014. BGN Dunmahon 2 comprised a series of charcoal-rich pits one of which contained prehistoric pottery. These were associated with a thin charcoal-flecked deposit.

Post-excavation works and the final report are due to be completed for this site in early 2016.
