This site was discovered during monitoring along the route of the Bord Gáis Networks Mungret to Inchmore Gas Pipeline Co. Limerick.
The site comprised two areas. Area 1 contained two structures (A and B) the larger of which was defined by a discontinuous circle of 10 post-holes with central hearth and internal pits, post- and stake-holes. The second smaller structure (B) was defined by 15 post-holes and stake-holes in a sub-oval arrangement. A decorated bone object and a glass rod were recovered from features associated with Structure A.
Area 2 comprised a group of pits one of which contained charcoal-rich deposits and 11 sherds of prehistoric pottery.
Post-excavation works and final reports are due to be completed for this site in early 2016.
