Testing was undertaken in advance of the Kilkenny Water Conservation Plan (WCP): Phase 3 Mains Rehabilitation at Ullid and Tibberaghny, Co. Kilkenny in response to recommendations given in a monitoring report undertaken during Phase 2 of the project.
Monitoring was also carried out on Marsh Road, Thomastown within the zone of archaeological potential for the historic walled town (KK028-040) at this time under consent number C529. The results of this monitoring are reported separately.
Included in monitoring were pits excavated to facilitate directional drilling as well as areas of open-cut trenching. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded during the work.
