The refurbishment of pathways and installation of land drains between Mrs Siddons’ Temple and the ice house were monitored. The compacted stone base of the original pathways survived in places and a fan of cobbling was uncovered in front of the icehouse. The drainage trench was diverted to avoid disturbing the latter feature. Excavation of a shallow and narrow drainage trench at the west side of the Dublin Drive revealed a number of features, which were not disturbed. A wall, probably of medieval date, crossed the line of the trench and extended under the Dublin Drive eastwards. Parts of an 18th-century building, possibly Kelly’s Lodge, the base of the gate pier, a stone gate stop and part of a lateral cobbled drain on the driveway were also recorded.
