Construction groundworks for a small extension and new drainage at 66 Inchicore Road were monitored in 2014.

The site is located within the archaeological constraint zone of the historic city of Dublin (DU018-020--). No specific monuments are situated in or around the site, and the closest monuments are Kilmainham Goal (DU018-125) c. 300m to the east and Viking burials (DU018-020272) c. 200m to the north-west. These Viking burials were discovered in the 19th century at Kilmainham/Islandbridge along the gravel ridge between the Liffey and the Camac. The presence of these Viking burials, located by Clarke (2002) just to the north of the site, suggested the possibility that groundworks would encounter important archaeological remains.

All groundworks were monitored and no archaeological remains were identified. The site was disturbed by earlier 20th-century building works.
