An archaeological evaluation was conducted ahead of the proposed construction of a residential development at Mossvale Road, Dromore. The proposed development site is located within the area of archaeological potential for Dromore (DOW 021:075).
This evaluation concerns Phase 1 of the development which consisted of the excavation of foundations within plots nos 88 and 89 and associated infrastructure. Monitoring of the excavation of 4 trial pits, house foundations within plots 88-89 and of a sewer and storm drain was carried out using a mechanical digger fitted with a toothless bucket.
No evidence of archaeological features were uncovered during the evaluation within this area of the site.
