In total two trenches were dug within the paddock with nothing of archaeological potential uncovered in either of them.
The wall which separated the paddock under investigation and the graveyard to the west was built onto bedrock at the north-west corner. From this it was clear that at least part of the site had been quarried and levelled in the past. As the yard was on the 1st edition OS map of 1834 it is likely that the levelling was done before that date. There was no evidence for archaeology relating to the adjoining site of Ballee Parish Church (DOW038-027)
