Londonderry, having been commissioned by Taylor Patterson Surveyors. The works undertaken relate to a request for additional information by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency: Historic Monuments Unit (NIEA:HMU) prior to making a Planning Decision under Planning Policy Statement 6: Built Heritage 4 (PPS 6:BH4) in response to a Planning Application for the development of the site comprising the removal of the existing 15m monopole mast, portions of the existing base, extension of the stock-proof fence to delimit the new 10m x 5m site extent, construction of a new shared concrete base and installation of the new 15m high mast and associated cabinets and all necessary associated site works including provision of electrical ducting and connections (Planning Ref: C/2014/0268/F).
A total area of c.32.5m2 was stripped of topsoil within the area of proposed invasive groundworks. No archaeological features, remains or deposits were identified during the evaluation works.
