An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed redevelopment of lands at 1 Heathmount, Portstewart.
Two test trenches were excavated by a mechanical digger fitted with a toothless bucket. Remains of activity on the site datable to the late 19th – 20th century were uncovered in the form of a stone wall bonded by mortar and concrete, a cobbled area and some pottery. No evidence of any earlier activity was identified during the course of the evaluation.
