Monitoring was undertaken of the Harbour Improvement Works in North Harbour, Cape Clear, Co. Cork. All ground disturbance was monitored including dredging works and the demolition of the eastern end of the Breakwater Pier. The removal of topsoil for the creation of a slipway was also monitored. No archaeological features, stratigraphy or artefacts were recovered during monitoring of topsoil stripping and dredging works. The eastern end of the 19th-century Breakwater Pier was reduced under archaeological supervision and the stone facing was retained for future re-use.
