2014:419 - MOGEELY LOWER, Cork

Planning permission was granted to install a domestic waste treatment unit and percolation area at Mogeely House, Conna, Co Cork (Planning reference 12/05254). A condition of planning was that testing be carried out where ground works were to take place. The proposed development site lies within the zone of archaeological notification for Mogeely Castle (CO046-007—) in the walled garden of Mogeely House, (NIAH Reg. No. 20904605). Four test trenches were opened in the area of the water treatment plant and associated features. No finds or features of an archaeological nature were noted.
