Pre-planning test trenching of this site was undertaken in advance of applying to build a dwelling house in a field adjoining a ringfort. Seven test trenches were excavated across the site. The ditch of the ringfort was revealed in one of the trenches extending 4.6m into the previously agreed 20m buffer zone between the monument and the proposed development. The development was moved 25m from the edge of the ringfort to accommodate a buffer zone of 20.4m.
