Pre-development testing was carried out on 2 May 2014 in advance of the construction of an extension to Barley Field House, Kilbrittain. These works were within the Zone of Archaeological Potential of a R.C Chapel (site of). Due to the constricted nature of the site just two test trenches were excavated. The stratigraphy consisted of a yellow/brown boulder clay underlying c. 0.45m of garden soil in Trench 2 and c. 0.35m of recently introduced gravel in Trench 1, close to the west wall of the house. No archaeological finds or features were noted.
