Ground works associated with the construction of a windfarm were monitored at Glentanemacelligott, Rockchapel, Newmarket. As part of the windfarm scheme, six wind turbines were erected in 2013, with ground works undertaken in 2014 for a further five turbines. Ground works associated with the five turbines, the laying of a network of roads linking the turbines and associated site works were monitored.

The windfarm site is situated close to the Cork/Kerry/Limerick border, at the southern end of the Mullaghereirk Mountains. The site is within an upland setting with extensive spreads of bog whilst other parts are within coniferous forests. The nearest recorded archaeological monument, CO013-032 (a lime kiln), is located c. 725m to the north-east of the windfarm extension site.

Monitoring of ground works for the windfarm extension revealed no archaeological remains or features within the site.
