Excavation of two fulachta fiadh was carried out at the site of a new secondary school on a greenfield site at Tulla Co. Clare. Two phases of geophysical survey and test excavation had been undertaken on site and have resulted in the discovery of the 2 fulachta fiadh. Both sites were excavated; no archaeological artefacts were found in association with either site. Charcoal was recovered from bulk soil samples. A sample of ash charcoal retrieved from the mound material in Area A was dated to 2470–2210 cal. BC making it Early Bronze Age in date (95% probability; SUERC 54902; 3878±36 BP).
