An archaeological evaluation as undertaken prior to the proposed construction of a residential development on lands at Magheralave Road, Lisburn. Evaluation for Phase 1 of the project was completed under licence AE/09/50. No archaeological deposits were identified during these works.

The evaluation for Phase 2 consisted of the monitoring of topsoil removal for the remainder of the site. The topsoil removal was conducted using a back-acting machine fitted with a toothless bucket. Topsoil ranged in depth from 0.2-0.5m across the site. This directly overlay subsoil which consisted of a stony, orange/brown glacial till.

No evidence of any archaeological features or deposits was identified during the course of the monitoring.
