The site was located on the eastern side of the A26 Frosses Road approximately 50m south of the junction between it the and A44 Drones Road immediately south of the Ballylig Road on a flat piece of undeveloped farm land. There was one feature identified in the area, a Burnt Mound spread centred at IGR D 04721 19391, 84m above sea level. In the field to the east, just outside the area of the road take, was a low-lying natural hollow which contained a freshwater spring. The subsoil in the immediate area was glacial till.
The small oval burnt mound measured 2.65m long, 1.55m wide and 0.11m deep orientated north-west/south-east). A radiocarbon date from charred wood returned an Early Iron Age date of 754–411 BC (Beta-385661). One small piece of worked flint was recovered from the surface of the spread.
