Archaeological excavations took place in advance of development at Knockrobin, Glebe, Co. Wicklow.
A total of six Areas of archaeological importance were identified during the site stripping. The earliest activity was located in Area 2 and was represented by a single cremation pit from the early to mid-Bronze Age, dated 1742-1530 BC cal 2σ (UBA-26526). The remaining features on the site stem from early medieval to late medieval domestic activity, comprising of a working area and four kilns with associated pits and enclosures. Three of the kilns have been dated, Kiln C44 in Area 1, AD 690-887 cal 2σ (UBA-26524), Kiln C28 in Area 3, AD 1029-1181 cal 2σ (UBA-26523) and keyhole-shaped Kiln 110 in Area 5, AD1470-1644 cal 2σ (UBA-26525).
