Monitoring was carried out during the construction of the Wicklow Water Supply Scheme - Contract 8A Vartry Main Replacement (OS Sheets 18, 19 and 25). The programme of monitoring was undertaken by Faith Bailey, Mark Moraghan and Dave Swift of IAC Ltd.
Monitoring of topsoil stripping was undertaken in the townlands of Ballymacahara, Ballinahinch, Ballymaghroe, Callowhill Lower, Dunran Demesne and Keeloge Upper, Co. Wicklow between December 2013 and May 2014. One site of archaeological significance was identified during the monitoring in Keeloge Upper. The remains of a burnt mound were recorded but preserved in situ.
No other features of archaeological interest were identified within the footprint of the scheme.
